CONTROL SYSTEMS (NAVAL SHIPS)
The modern warship has IPMS and IBS that control & monitor almost all ship systems, be it navigation, hull, engineering and electrical machinery. The monitored systems include propulsion machinery, auxiliary machinery, damage control, stability, power management, surveillance, intercom, navigation, communication dynamic positioning, amongst others. Modern control & automation technology has been introduced in the Indian Navy in a gradual way.
The control systems onboard can be broadly classified into navigation & bridge management, propulsion machinery management, auxiliary machinery management, power management, damage control & stability management, surveillance, habitability and domestic systems.
