Reference list for naval retrofitment projects
There is a need to augment earlier commissioned ships with modern control systems and switchboard assemblies so as to make the crew familiar with the new technology. L&T has replaced Russian Main Switchboards for the mine sweeper class of ships. The material of enclosure for the L&T make switchboards is Stainless Steel for reducing the magnetic signature of the ship.
We have supplied the Indian Navy and Coast Guard with the switchgear, control panels, distribution boards and starters for various retrofit jobs of existing fleet. We also offer retrofitment solutions for Platform Management System and have successfully executed ADAS (Automatic Data Acquisition System) for 1241 RE ships and truncated Integrated Bridge System (IBS) for INS TIR. All interfaces have been proven and formal trials of the system have been completed successfully.
L&T was also shortlisted as a preferred supplier for the upgradation of the existing IPMS fitted on naval platforms.

L&T is also closely associated with ship owners and the Indian Navy for maintenance contracts of L&T supplied switchboards, control systems and also for the maintenance of the control systems supplied by other suppliers. It has expertise in the fields of switchboards, control systems and degaussing systems. Hence, solutions suggested by L&T optimally utilise existing resources available on the ship and are commercially viable to the procurement agency.
L&T's representatives across various locations of India as well as Singapore, Malaysia and Middle-East ensure reduction in the response time and defect rectification time.
